This morning I realized that we are now in the year 2010.
During my quiet time with the Lord this morning; he reminded me, that I had not kept my promise. I had started a Ministry to help children; but I had put it on hold, and did not make any attempt to revive it. The name of the group is Restoring the Breach. I started it some time ago, with the help of some of my friends; but as the economy got bad, people lost interest in volunteering.
I also had some very challenging issues to deal with. Things seemed to get worse, rather than getting better. You I see I focused on the trials, more than on the One who holds my future (God). I had to change my focus during the year, and start just trusting in God; whether things changed or not. It was a very different year to say the least. I believed God to change the situations and circumstances; but nothing happened. Is He still the God who can do all things, but fail; you bet HE is.
I guess some people will ask; well why did He not help you? He never said the Christian’s journey was easy; neither did He say that He will stop everything from happening. It is in the going through the situations and the circumstances that we realize who He actually is. If we do not get healed from an illness; how can we testify that He is a healer?
We have to go through some stuff some times to make us stronger; other times to show that our dependency is on Him. David said “Yea though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil” Psalm 23:4. He realized, and made a confession that he was going through; the valley of the ‘shadow’ (it’s just a shadow) of death. He knew he would come out victorious. No wonder he was a man after God’s own heart.
You know late last year, I had a great corporation look through the plan/proposal for the Ministry. It was my intention to get things started again. Be a blessing to the youth that would come; build up their self-esteem, and make them love and trust themselves, so they can extend the same sentiments/courtesy to others.
Everything was put together, including setting up all the necessary papers (by one of the best accounting firms in the Country); a firm with great integrity. Before I could mail the papers out to get the certification from the IRS I became sick. I had lost money on the homes I tried to renovate for the children. The contractors abandoned the jobs. The IRS has a fee to get the certification of non-profit status. I was at a stand still again. I had to use the money I had for medications (that was more important at that time).
This time I have decided to come back to the area where I live; even though the other area seemed at that time to have a greater need (with a lot of the youth not staying in school), than the area where I live. However, I have found out that there’s need in this community too. The difference is, in these communities, even though the need is comparatively great; people just do not like to talk about it.
I would ask for help from any one out there, to put this group back on track. We still need to pay for the Non-Profit Certification from the IRS. I have asked other Christians, from Ministries in my area to volunteer, and to provide the names of children that need help.
We need food, warm clothes and supplies for the children. I have a van that I used to use for buying things, and delivering them. They say it has engine trouble. If there is mechanic out there that can help fix it, we would appreciate your contribution. We can also do some batter, of things we have for the things we need for the children. For financial contributions, please email us for the contact information of the accounting firm.
God bless you.
